The Nauru Electoral Commission held a workshop with Nauru Church Leaders Community on Wednesday 8 May 2019. This is an important part of its Outreach Program for the 2019 General Elections. The goal was to work with the church leaders to build an understanding of the election. It also allowed the leaders to give feedback on improving access to elections for all Nauruans, including youth. In his opening speech, the Electoral Commissioner highlighted the importance of their role in circulating information and the outcome of the workshop to their Church Communities. The workshop ended with a group activity, having each group presenting on key messages for the Nauru community and youth.
