A workshop will be held for women Nauruan citizens who are considering nominating to stand in the 2019 General Elections, expected to be held in August.

It will be held on Saturday 8 June 2019 at the CRC.

The workshop follows on from consultations with political, community and church leaders about women’s leadership in Nauru, and will work to strengthen women candidates’ confidence levels to contest the election – one of the identified barriers to more women being elected.

It will also aim to ensure women are able to campaign safely and securely.

We encourage all women who intend to stand for the August election to come and participate, discuss and reflect.

All women candidates, including those who have stood before, are welcome.
